Temple Square Christmas Lights and DT- Q Hall

So, for those not in Provo and up to speed on the exciting news here...they are tearing down Deseret Towers! It definitely was getting old, but it is sad to say good bye to my old freshmen memories :) We had good times there! So, this is Q hall being destroyed. This was December 8th....now, Q hall is completely down and they will probably start on R hall next....so, we will keep you updated on the knocking down of all the buildings :)

So, on December 7th Tyson and I got tickets to see the bell choir in the conference center. It was just random - a girl from work had extra tickets and we ended up getting some! The weather was horrible and it took us over 1 1/2 hours to get there, but we eventually did. We walked in super late to the performance, but we were not alone. About 30 other people walked in at the same time! Everyone had problems getting there :) Anyways, the bell choir was fabulous and there were two organists there that were amazing!!!! Tyson was amazed and we ended up loving the concert! Afterwards, we had our 3rd annual Christmas Lights on Temple Square viewing :) We started when we were dating, then again last year, and this year. This will probably be our last year, so we walked around for a while :) It was snowing and my skirt and shoes were soaked, but it was worth it :) Above are just a few of the pictures from that night! Tyson always loves the big, red tree and I always love standing by the reflecting pond....we thought it was cool that you could see the snow in the last picture! Brrrrr! It was really great :) It took us another 1 1/2 hours to get home to Provo, but ah well. It was a well-spent evening :)

Thanksgiving Weekend Festivities!

For Thanksgiving this year we went down to Las Vegas :) Thursday was filled with eating tons of food - especially the famous fried turkey, cooking - I even helped make some of the pies, hanging out, naps, and of course, the Walker family volleyball tournament. I, however did not participate in playing volleyball this year because I knew the I would get to into it and possibly dive on my tummy or something. So, I got to watch the babies and all the games. It was pretty tough to not play, but I managed. This was not the normal Thanksgiving weekend, however.

First off, Shauntelle and John blessed their little baby, Evyn on Friday morning. My parents, John's parents, Michael & Sarah & kids, Kristy, and Tyson & I were in attendance. She was dressed in the dress that Shauntelle, Kristy, and I were all blessed in. So, it's become somewhat of a famous dress :) She has really filled out since her birth (09/28) and is just so beautiful. Tyson got to participate in the circle and I got to hold the tape recorder! It was pretty sweet :) I also got to see Sarah and Michael's baby, Rachel. I had not seen her since May (right after she was born), so she has grown a ton! On Friday afternoon, we went to "Dan in Real Life" with Tyson's family and then Friday night Kristy went through the temple! Friday was packed! It was all pretty amazing, though :)

On Saturday morning we went shooting with some of Tyson's family. It was a lot of fun! Tyson was looking cool with his ear muff thing and I was sporting the ever-cool bright orange ear plugs! I actually shot a shot gun for the first time in my life! The first time I only hit 1 of 5 clay pigeons, but the second time I hit 3 of 5! So, next time, I think I may even be able to hit 4 of 5! Who knows. Tyson shot really well with the shot gun and we all took turns with the 22, 45, AK-47, shot guns, and a variety of other guns that Tyson's bro-in-law owns :) Overall, it was a very fun morning. So, as we were heading back to town, we realized that the BYU vs. Utah game was on and immediately started listening to the radio. We walked in the door at the beginning of the fourth quarter when BYU was up 9 to 3. Utah went on to score a touchdown and the extra point, which made the score 10- 9 Utah. Tyson's cousins are pretty die hard Utah fans, so they were already thinking the game was won with 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter. To their dismay and our enjoyment, BYU ended up scoring a touchdown and went for a two-point conversion and also got that. So, the game was 17-10 BYU with 30 seconds left. But, many of us know that BYU came out victorious! It was a great day for the BYU fans :) Yipee! What a Saturday!

Sunday came all too fast and we actually attended two wards, Tyson's old ward and my old ward. Kristy spoke in the old Silver Springs ward and it was kind of like a farewell for her. She did a great job! It's just weird to think that she is old enough to go on a mission already! She leaves January 9th and will be going to the Taiwan Taichung mission (Jen, Evan Lunt served in that mission as well....oh and he is in my ward now). So, the weekend was definitely packed, but well worth it :)

My belly

Well, a few people have been asking to see pictures of my belly...we have only taken two (slackers, I know), but here they are. The first was taken October 30th, the night before we found out it was going to be a boy! The second was taken on December 3rd for no particular reason! Didn't Tyson do a wonderful job putting on the Christmas lights :) I am getting bigger and it's actually a good thing....weird. Little boy is kicking a ton and one Saturday Tyson and I spent an hour in bed just feeling him kick all over my belly. It's pretty amazing feeling it....I'm excited to the meet the little guy in about 3 months!

The baby pictures!!!

So, I have finally scanned the pictures of our cute little boy :) I decided against showing off everything....poor little guy might be embarrassed if I put everything on the internet. But, if you would like to see other pictures, you can visit me and I will show them to you :) In the first picture, you can really see the spine (apparently, a very healthy one). The second one actually scared Tyson when he saw it at first. He was like, "Whoa! There is something looking at me!"...but, I think it's pretty amazing :) The third is my personal favorite because you can see the baby's profile and his little hand is so close to his little lips :) I'm such a sappy mom-to-be :) Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Happy Halloween and Nevada Day :)

Today has been a pretty exciting day...it all started with our Halloween party at school. Some of the kids had a bit of a harder time with it, but they were just so cute in their random costumes. I think my favorite was the orange monster who looked like the one on Monsters, Inc. :) I can't get over how cute the kids are!

Above are pictures of our Jack-o-lantern! Inside is we put battery-powered tea-lights that change color! Pretty sweet if you ask me! That is the second bit of exciting news!

Also, it is Nevada's birthday! How exciting for all of us Nevadans :) (such as Tyson and myself)! But, the most exciting news is that we found out the gender of our baby! We did find out that we are having a baby, not a pumpkin, contrary to popular belief :) Anyways, I can't hold it in any longer.....we are going to have a baby boy!!!!! Tyson and I are both overjoyed :) It was so neat to see the little arms, legs, and all his little body parts. The doc said that everything looks good, and he is growing at a healthy rate :) So, we are super excited! As soon as I can get to a scanner, I will try and see if the pictures will scan in, so that we can share our joy even more :) So, those pictures should be coming up soon......I know you are all excited :) We love you all!

BYU vs. UNLV

Oh, So I made a mistake on the date of the last pictures....they were taken on Friday, October 12th. These nest ones were at the BYU/UNLV game on Saturday the 13th. Tyson's dad got us some amazing seats. The pictures show you how close we were :) It was great because the closer BYU came to the goal line, the more and more we could see the players! We even saw the break dancing Cosmo dance after we made a touchdown! BYU won 24-14.....it was a great game! Go Cougars!

Evyn Mari Rowberry Pallett

Mary, Evyn's older sister who is 2 1/2, calles her by her full name and it's just sooo cute. We went over there and Mary showed me the paper where she was writing Evyn's full name. It was all scribbles, but adorable :) She's already a good big sister. Oh, and Tyson got to change his very first diaper this smae day (I think it was last Saturday, the 14th)...so we're prepping him for the whole baby thing :)

Babies :)

No, these are not my babies, but sometimes I wish they were. The little boy (first two pictures) is Vance - our cute little nephew. He's Tyson's sister's baby. He has the cutest smile and then you pull out the camera and he goes completely straight-faced. He's so funny :) So, I got the best smile I could. :) The slightly :) smaller baby in the third picture is our new niece Evyn, Shauntelle's (my sister) new two-week old. She has super big eyes and loves to see what is going on. She's super calm at this point and just so small. I think I want a girl now, but boys are super cute, too :) I am torn :)

Muscles :)

So, there is this cute, cute, cute kid at my school. He is always talking about how he is strong and had big muscles, so I took a picture of him showing me his muscles :) It was seriously so cute....If I have kids as cute as him, I'll be so lucky :)

Temple/Birthday/Game Fun!

These next few pictures were taken September 22....Tyson's mom's birthday :) His cousin Garrett went through the Mount Timp Temple and then we had a birthday celebration for his mom in the Cafe Rio parking lot! What fun :) Oh, we also went to the football that day and got super soaked, but had fun :) No pictures of that.....rain and our new camera do not mix :( Later on that night we hit the women's volleyball game. Sadly, they ended up losing in the 5th game....so, we were all depressed....well, not really. But, it was pretty upsetting. At least we won the football game :)

More updates :) Yes, I'm back!

Ok, so I admit...I have been horrible at doing this blog thing. I promise that I will do better :) Due to some recent request, I am posting some more pictures and updating you all about our life. Well, our old camera was lost, so Tyson and I bought a new one in September...it's pretty sweet. Sony is a great brand :)

These first pictures are at a BYU Women's soccer game with our friends Ben and Kelly Johnson.....super cute newlyweds :) Oh, we won 1-0 :) yahoo! Oh, yeah, and a group of little girls came and all danced with cosmo - hence the random cosmo picture :)

BIG NEWS!!!!

So, I haven't scanned in a picture for everyone to see, but I wanted to post the news anyways :) Tyson and I are going to have a baby!!!!! I am 13 weeks along and feeling pretty good. The baby is due March 20th! It's kind of surreal, but amazing at the same time! So, as soon as I can get to a scanner, I will put the picture of the first ultrasound the we got at almost 9 weeks :) I hope everyone is doing well. We will be posting more, we just have to get a new camera....so, look forward to fun and exciting posts from Tyson and Janae :) We love you!

Tyson's 24th Birthday!!

In response to certain comments about my lack of posts on our website, here are some pictures on my 24th birthday. Janae gave me a fabulous present of tickets to go see Phantom of the Opera at the Kennedy Center. My family sent me a package that contained candy, 2 collared shirts for work, and some money for new shoes. Happy Birthday to me!!!

Our house!

This is the beautiful house that Tyson and I are living in right now! It's definitely the biggest one on the block and has the coolest stuff on the inside :) The family goes to their summer house in Rhode Island every June and stay there until the end of August. So, we are in charge of making sure the house doesn't fall apart :) We (mostly I) water the plants, feed the fish, water the grass, mow, and edge the yard. It is so nice to have a house!!! The only problem is that I am spoiled now! I want to live in a house right now, when I know that it won't happen for a while. But, it is nice to have your own house, even if it is just for a little while!

The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms because it is sooooo big! She has 6 burners, two sinks, and a great island! Also, the microwave has all these neat button including the reheat option. I don't know how it does it, but you push that button and whatever you are heating up comes out the perfect temperature. The microwave has some sort of sensor in it. It's seriously amazing!

The end of the journey :)

So, we missed a few states...they had poor signs. But, hey, we did our best! West Virginia was a bit tough because of the whole bridge thing. Tyson and I thought about risking our lives to climb up the bridge and almost get killed, but then decided against it. :) Good thing! West Virginia was also the place the we took an hour detour because the highway was backed up for hours! So, we took the this super windy road, I was getting sick, and we didn't really know if we were going the right way. Then, we saw a Community of Christ Church in the middle of the woods (the old RLDS)!! Talk about random! When we finally got back on to the original road we were so grateful! We stopped at a Pizza Hut and we decided that it was the best pizza we have ever had in our lives. Now, whether that was because we were on a small, swervy road for over an hour or because we actually loved the pizza, we will never know :) Virginia is by far the prettiest state we drove through (in my opinion...Sorry, Tys, if you think otherwise). We have yet to take a picture at a DC sign, but we found a small one on the way to our chapel...so, we'll put it up soon! Oh, another random story! We stopped at a rest stop in Indiana (where we have the picture) and we met an LDS couple that was doing a cross-country drive! They were doing it just for fun! How random! Also, they were from Nevada! It really is a small world :)

Our Cross Country Trip!

This is the beginning of our cross country drive from Las Vegas, NV to Washington, DC! Let me tell you, it was long! But, we had some Harry Potter books along the way to make it a little more interesting. Kansas was probably the flattest state of all that we drove. Flat with just grass. But, surprisingly, it was a fairly fast drive...possibly because I was speeding to try and get to Illinois. :) I especially like our Superman pose in front of the Welcome to Kansas sign :)
