The Suit :)

So, I forgot to do the updates after Reed's 2-month checkup! Well, he went on May 15th and here are the stats:
Head circumference - 40.5 cm, 66%; Length - 23.2 in, 68%; Weight - 12 lb 6 oz, 65%
All-in-all..he is doing great! I figured it out and since his 2 week appointment, Reed has gained a little over 10 ounces a week! From what I have read, the regular amount to gain is 6-8 ounces...so, Reed just really likes to eat! He is fabulous! I love being a mom! Recently, he has really started talking to us! It's so fun! He makes a noise and then we do it back, then he does it back! He talked to me for 10 minutes the other day! He has chuckled a few times and just loves to smile! He is such a happy little boy :) I love it! I will try and get a video of him talking...it's just so cute! Yes, you can totally tell that I am a first-time mom! I soak up everything that my child does!

In other news, Reed has worn a suit to church for the past 2 Sundays! (Thanks Grandma Rowberry). He is definitely the best dressed there and is such a heart breaker. Here are some photos of his amazing little suit! This is week one -

"I look so good in this suit!"

This is week two-

"I'm trying to do my stone face, but it's a little hard because I don't know what that looks like."

"I'm still a little confused as to what is going on!"

"Hey! How are you? Can I play?"

So, Reed really loves his sleep and trying to wake him up is not always the funnest thing in the world. This is just an example - he starts to wiggle and grunt and averts his eyes from my direction. It makes me laugh, so I had to take a picture just to remember how hard he tries to stay asleep some times :)

Baby News :)

Recently, our friends, Colby and Audrey, had a beautiful baby boy - Eli Stone :) So, we went to visit and were comparing sizes! Note the difference in birth weight - Reed 6 pounds 14 ounces, Eli 10 pounds 2 ounces! Right away we noticed that Eli wasn't that much lighter than Reed and Reed was 7 weeks at the time!!!! But, Reed is growing a ton and weighs around 12 1/2 pounds :)

If there is one thing that I love that is completely impractical, it is baby shoes! Reed is not walking quite yet :), but I had to put these amazingly cute shoes on him! Thanks Darby, Melissa, and Heather! I just can't get over how much I love baby shoes!

So, Reed needed some shorts since it is supposed to be getting hotter here in Utah (but, the weather is simply crazy). So, we splurged and went to Baby Gap!!! These are some seriously nice shorts - better than any pair that I own! It's so cute because Reed has a long body and short legs! So, he is growing out of his 0-3 months onsies, but the 0-3 months shorts are still pants on him! I love it :)

Reed is still enjoying tummy time, especially when he has something interesting to look at! He also loves to pose when he has cool clothes on!

So, below is the outfit that Reed came home in! It's crazy because he is growing out of it! His arms are too long for it and when he stretches out, the neckline is kind of like an old man's neckline - kind of saggy because it has been stretched out many times! The difference is that Reed has stretched it out because he is so long and not so chubby :) I love it! So, this is today's picture (May 14, 2008 - 2 months old)

This is the day he went home (March 15, 2008) - He is getting so big! 2 months of growth - amazing :)

Graduation, Blessing, and Lots of Fun!

On Saturday, April 26, Reed took his first trip to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake! This his him along with his aunt, Krystal, and Tyson...and of course, the elephant!

On Sunday, April 27, Reed was blessed! I do have to say that he was the best dressed of anyone there! Can you beat a suit with a satin cumber bun and tie! Not to mention that his coat has tails! I will have to get a better picture of the back to show them off :) The blessing was so amazing! I am very grateful that there is a worthy Priesthood holder in my home! My sister, Shauntelle, and her family were able to come up from Vegas! Also, my brother, Michael, and his family were able to come down from Logan! Tyson's family was able to stay the whole weekend and his aunt and her family were able to come from Spanish Fork area :) It was a beautiful day!

The cutest kid in the world!

These past few weeks have been busy and tons of fun! On April 24-25 Tyson graduated with his Master's degree in Accounting (MAcc). I'm so glad that he is finished! He is as well :) Being the crazy new mom that I am, I was desperate to find a matching cap and gown for little Reed. I looked everywhere for a gown, but no one had them. I thought the bookstore might, but no luck, and I searched everywhere online. Then, I a girl in my ward emailed the phone number of a lady in Provo that rents them out. So, the day before graduation I found Reed a matching cap and gown! I was so excited and even more excited when she had a matching tassel! Isn't he just the cutest thing in the world! I am definitely a proud mom :) The graduation was long, but great! Tyson's family got to come. My parents also flew in! It was fun to see everyone! Tyson was just happy that it was all done with!

Awwww! Daddy and baby have matching caps and gowns!

When we took Reed into the Doctor at his 4-week appointment we found out some amazing news! He gained 23 ounces in 15 days!!!! He weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces :) Well, I guess he's getting enough to eat :) I always worry about that, but am always reassured that he is eating enough! Well, that was 3 weeks ago, so I am assuming he is at least 10 pounds by now, if not close to 11 now :) He's growing so big! This is the picture of him on the scale at the doc's office :) Next is his cute little bath - I just think he looks so cute :) Lastly, we have what I call a sleep sack - it's simply amazing! Thanks Barb and Ryan! We love you!

Wow! I am gaining weight :)

Bath time is much more fun in lots of water!

My sleep sack is amazing! Thanks Barb & Ryan!
